Built in the 15th century, the Church of Sant’Eustachio is the religious heart of Belforte del Chienti and one of its most precious treasures. Inside it houses Giovanni Boccati’s famous Polyptych (1468), the largest in Europe, commissioned and financed by the townspeople as a symbol of devotion and prosperity. Measuring almost 5 metres in height and over 3 in width, the work celebrates the figure of the patron saint and captivates visitors with its refined colours and composition. The church also preserves a Byzantine icon of the Madonna and Child, a 16th-century polychrome wooden statue of Saint Sebastian, and several 16th-century canvases from the Lotto school. It is a true treasure chest of art and spirituality, making Belforte del Chienti an unmissable stop in the Marche region.
